What do you do when your Tesla's screen goes black? Well, you take it to Twitter and have Elon Musk solve the problem for you, of course.
It probably also helps if you're famous.
On Wednesday, Sheryl Crow queried the Twitterverse about her Tesla's screen misbehaving.
"Help! Who knows what to do when your @Tesla screen goes black and the reset doesn’t work? Return it and get your money back??," she tweeted.
It does sound like a nasty problem, but it's actually quite easy to solve. According to Musk, Tesla's Night mode, when brightness is at 0 percent, is too dark during the day, and the company will update the software to remedy this. For now, the solution is to change your screen preference from Night mode to auto, sayeth Musk.
Night mode with 0% brightness is actually too dark during the day. This is ultimately our fault. We will update our software so that 0% brightness is always usable relative to ambient conditions.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 3, 2019
Musk also later tweeted the company would also tweak Night mode default brightness, which is currently "too high."
Night mode default brightness is actually too high imo. Should be lower & allow below current “0%” level. Making that adjustment too.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 3, 2019
Although it's unclear who gave her the right advice, Crow later tweeted that she managed to solve the problems by changing the car's settings.
Problem solved! LOVED all of your creative responses. Best one was suggesting my kids take a look... which would have been helpful since my kid was the one who changed the settings / caused it to go black in the first place! I knew I should have interrupted school...
— Sheryl Crow (@SherylCrow) April 3, 2019
And if you're wondering whether she's really selling her Tesla, the answer is no.
Also, for the haters: I love my @Tesla, and have very few problems. I got the basic model, nothing overly fancy, and it was cheaper than my minivan!

Endings don't get any better than this.
In the first quarter of 2019, Tesla manufactured a total of 77,100 vehicles but was only able to deliver 63,000 in the three months that ended in March. While that's double the number it was able to deliver in the same quarter last year, that's down 31 percent from Tesla's deliveries (90,966 vehicles) in Q4 2018. As CNN Business noted, it's the biggest sales drop in the company's history if you only count deliveries and not reservations as sales. Analysts thought Tesla would be able to deliver 76,000 cars for the quarter.
The 77,100 vehicles the automaker manufacturer are composed of 62,950 Model 3 and 14,150 Model S and X cars. Among those, Tesla was able to deliver 50,900 Model 3 and 12,100 Model S and X vehicles. In its announcement, Tesla admits that it expects its income for the quarter to be negatively impacted by the lower-than-expected delivery volumes. The recent price adjustments it implement would affect its numbers, as well. Tesla slashed the prices of its cars in recent months -- in Model 3's case, it now costs $35,000 after incentives.
Although there are apparently deepening concerns about a drop in demand for its EVs, there are other several explanations for the company's lackluster quarter. To start with, it rushed to deliver Model 3 cars last year to enable buyers to take advantage of its $7,500 tax credit, thereby beefing up its numbers for the last period of the year. And then there's the fact that Tesla has only just started selling cars in China and Europe. It apparently encountered new challenges that come with delivering orders overseas.
Tesla seems optimistic for the second quarter and the rest of 2019, however. It says "a large number of vehicle deliveries [will] shift to the second quarter" due to delays during the first. Also, it still expects to fulfill 360,000 to 400,000 vehicle deliveries this year, revealing that "US orders for Model 3 vehicles significantly outpaced what [it was] able to deliver" in the first three months of the year.

Verizon has officially turned on its mobile 5G network in Minneapolis and Chicago.
Verizon promises that its 5G network delivers speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second. Those speeds are significantly faster than those of the 4G LTE network we've most recently been using to browse the web, stream videos and music, and lurk on social media.
To put Verizon's 5G speed claim into perspective, I'm lucky to get about 20 megabits per second — 2% the speed of 1 gigabit per second — on Verizon's 4G LTE network in and around New York City.
For now, the only phone that can connect to Verizon's fifth-generation network in Minneapolis and Chicago is the $480 Motorola Moto Z3, which requires a separate $350 5G "Moto Mod" that attaches to the back of the Z3 smartphone to let the phone connect to Verizon's 5G network.
Verizon is selling the Moto Z3 for a discounted $240 and the 5G modification for a discounted $200. Verizon says the 5G mod for the Z3 will be available to buy starting Wednesday.
More 5G-capable smartphones are expected later this year. The $1,200 Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is set to arrive in the first half of 2019 as a Verizon exclusive. It's expected to be available on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint in the second half of 2019.
AT&T has an active 5G network in 12 cities that it calls "5G Plus," which is supposedly faster than AT&T's regular 5G network, which hasn't yet rolled out. AT&T's 5G and 5G Plus shouldn't be confused with its "5G E" network, which is simply a renamed version of its 4G LTE Advanced Pro network that most recent smartphones can connect to.
Unfortunately for AT&T customers, AT&T doesn't yet sell a phone that can actually connect to its 5G Plus network. That's set to change when the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is made available to AT&T customers.
5G network availability from T-Mobile and Sprint is still vague.
